Vardaxis, like 'bardak' maker… 2015

The exhibition was a retrospective tribute to Simos Vardaxis, a traditional pottery artisan who lives in Thessaloniki.

Coming from a family of pottmakers, the third in a row, also followed by his son, Vassilis, he let us visualise

-using photos and artefacts - not only the story of the family,

but also the story of public preferences in the ceramic design since 19th century.

After all the name of the family means "the jug maker" (in turkish)...
