Traditional Musical Instruments. 2001

The exhibition was staged as part of the Days of Expression and Creativity programme, organized by the Friends of the Melina Merkouri Foundation. It featured folk instruments from the Museum's collections including the kanonaki, santouri, lute, lyre, mandolin, daouli and defi, as well as bells, whistles and other items used to produce music including spoons and coins. These instruments were exposed at a space of  Thessaloniki International Trade Fair, which was offered to the Museum for that purpose. A brief guide regarding the exhibition was published, covering all the items on display. The exhibition was visited by a large number of school groups and afterwards was transferred to Kalamaria Conservatoire.
