BRIEF EXHIBITION GUIDE
The publication which accompanies the permanent exhibition of F.E.M.M.-Th.: 'At the Mills of Macedonia and Thrace: watermills, sawmills, cloth finishing waterfalls, fulling mills in traditional society', is referring via texts, photographs and designs to the function of water-powered machines. These machines constituted a very important part at the history of the following procedures: grain grinding, ripping up wood and pounding of woolen textiles. This brief guide enables the visitor to comprehend the exhibition, while it motivates the reader to visit it and to realize the importance of waterpower at the preindustrial technology, since because of waterpower, humans moved on to machines from simple tools.
